Applying for Building Permits
The Citizen Portal is Now Available!
Jefferson County has launched the Citizen Portal, providing our customers with the ability to apply for Building Permits, Inspections, and Contractor Licenses from anywhere they have internet access. The Citizen Portal will enable residents, contractors, and businesses to submit, track, and manage permit applications more efficiently and effectively. We are confident that this new system will enhance the permitting experience.
Customers will need to register online before being able to use the Citizen Portal. Once registered, you can then apply for permits and licenses, schedule inspections and check the status of your applications.

On July 26, 2021 the Jefferson County, Missouri Council adopted Ordinance Number 21-0356 amending the Building Code and adopting a new fee schedule to apply to all building permits. The new fee schedule is in effect for ALL PERMITS.
