The Citizen Portal is Now Available!
Jefferson County has launched the Citizen Portal, providing our customers with the ability to apply for Zone Changes, Conditional Uses, Development Plans, Plats, Variances and other Planning and Zoning items from anywhere they have internet access. The Citizen Portal will enable residents, contractors, and businesses to submit, track, and manage applications more efficiently and effectively. We are confident that this new system will enhance the permitting experience.
Customers will need to register online before being able to use the Citizen Portal. Once registered, you can then apply for and check the status of your applications.

County Growth
Jefferson County currently finds itself in an exciting and challenging time. Countless new opportunities abound throughout the County including new housing opportunities, new parks, and shopping and employment opportunities. At the same time however, many challenges pose tough decisions for everyone in the County. The loss of open space, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation all demand decisive action if the County is to continue to thrive.

The dedicated staff of the Planning Division seek to assist County residents and appointed and elected officials in identifying issues and opportunities, discussing alternatives, defining appropriate actions and implementing steps to address the issues and take advantage of opportunities.
