Traffic

This office handles traffic citations written by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Citations issued by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department are prosecuted through the Jefferson County Municipal Court. Ethically, this office cannot speak to or contact defendants that do not have an attorney representing them when they are not in court. Thus, the following procedures are for attorney’s use only.

Required Items

Much thought has gone into formulating a procedure by which routine traffic matters can be negotiated electronically without the need to appear in court. Your cooperation and strict adherence to this policy will allow us to continue to provide recommendations.  Once our office receives notification of your Entry of Appearance, we will either send a recommendation or request additional information.  Please note that all communications from our office are sent electronically and you may need to check your SPAM folder for a No Reply Email.   It is not necessary to email our office your Entry of Appearance.

Our office does not send recommendations for nonmoving violations that are not accompanied with moving violation tickets.  If you enter on a nonmoving violation ticket by itself, you will need to appear to receive a recommendation.

Recommendations

Suspended imposition of sentence recommendations must be accepted in person by you and your client.  Amendment of tickets will be considered on a case by case basis.

If you have any questions regarding the court cost or court dates, please call 636-797-5303.
